The full Itinerary of this Special Trekking Trip from Marrakech to Desert:

Day 1: Marrakech – M’hamid

Departure for the 4-day family desert trekking tour from Marrakech in the early morning to M’hamid. Transport is by private car. The journey begins by exploring the High Atlas and Berber villages. You will cross the Tizi n’Tichka (Pastoral Pass), a pass at 2260m above sea level, located on the highest road in Morocco. This pass is the only direct link to Ouarzazate and the entire south-eastern region. Stopping at Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, you can admire the traditional Moroccan architecture of the UNESCO World Heritage Ksar. The journey continues through the Draa Valley to the desert gateway.

In the evening, you will reach a permanent bivouac with all the facilities to spend the night in the heart of the palm grove.

Day 2: M’hamid – Erg Bartam

Departure from the permanent bivouac with the nomadic team. The adventure begins with the rhythm of the camel caravan leaving the palm groves behind. It’s a sea of surrounding desert. You’ll pass ancient dwellings where you’ll find pottery testifying to the ancient civilizations that inhabited the desert. After this desert walk, we will have lunch and tea under the shade of the trees.

In the afternoon we will pass from the Mezouaria, an opportunity to learn about local history and customs. The bivouac will be set amidst the dunes.

Day 3: Erg Bartam – Erg Loutide

Today we continue to the dunes of Erg Loutide. The further into the desert’s heart, the rarer the tamarisk trees are and the more spectacular the views become. After lunch in the shade of a tamarisk tree, we reach the spectacular dunes with the beauty of the view of the surrounding dunes. Our bivouac will be set up in the heart of the dunes for a night under the stars.

Day 4: M’hamid – Marrakech

After breakfast at dawn in the dunes, we leave the dromedaries and return to our permanent bivouac on the 4×4. We return to Marrakech by car. Lunch will be somewhere, and arrive in Marrakech. Where we will end, our experience of the trekking.
