3-Day in the Moroccan Desert / Desert tour from Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Agdez – Zagora 6 hours

We will pick you up from your hotel/Riad or any point of your choice in Marrakech, then we will start our adventure at 08:00 for 3 days and 2 nights at the Erg Chigaga desert tour. Then we will cross the Tizi N’Tichka of the High Atlas Mountains 2260m pass, enjoying the mountainous road and the spectacular Berber villages.

Then, towards the Unesco world heritage site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, the fortified Ksar with its beautiful Kasbahs, Ait Benhaddou has served as a natural scenery for many movie producers.

You will go on a walk to the other side to discover the Ksar, surrounded by a desert landscape, and with the snow-capped Atlas mountains as a background, the view from the top seems to encompass the whole world.

After that, we will continue to Ouarzazate, then cross the second pass, which is Tizi N’Tinfifite (1660m), then reach the head of the Draa valley at Agdez, where we will pass many villages and gardens so that you can gain a better idea of the way of life along with the oasis. After that, we will reach Zagora for the night in the hotel/Riad, for dinner & breakfast.

Day 2: Zagora – Tamegroute – M’hamid – Erg Chigaga 3 hours

After breakfast, we will leave Zagora to continue our adventure. Sublime Desert tours in Morocco from Marrakech in 3 days, towards Tamegroute. Here you can make a stop to visit the ancient Koranic Library, pottery artisans, and the underground Kasbah to see its current inhabitants.

Then we continue our drive towards the M’hamid El Ghizlane village, where we’ll stop for lunch, then we will take off-road until Erg Chigaga dunes with 60 Km of off-road driving, and this route passes different features of the desert. The Erg, Reg, Hamada, and Erg Chigaga dunes are far away from civilization, in the desert proper, and the silence and the expanse of the sand are overwhelming.

You will also have the chance to experience Sandboard, ride camels, and enjoy one of the dramatic sunsets over the changing sands. After dinner, we gather around the fire to sing Berber music under a sky full of stars, and overnight in the Sublime desert camp at Erg Chigaga.

Day 3: Erg Chigaga – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Marrakech 8 hours

Get up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes before having your breakfast, and then we will start another adventure about 3 hours off-road, through a desert with varying scenery, Iriki Lake, the mountains, and fossils, and the first village we will pass is Foum Zguid.

From here, we drive along paved roads via the village of Taznakht, famous for its Berber carpets and rugs, then we continue on the road to arrive in the evening in Marrakech to end our experience of Morocco’s desert tours from Marrakech.
