Incredible Morocco Camel Trek in the Sahara Desert – itinerary:
Day 1: Marrakech – M’hamid
Morocco camel trek Start our adventure From Marrakech for 10 days/9 nights to M’hamid. Pick-up at 07:00 am, then we drive through the scenic High Atlas mountains (2260m) pass, enjoying the mountainous road and the spectacular Berber villages.
Then you will cross the second pass, which is Tizi-N’Tinfifite (1660m), then reach the head of the Dra Valley at Agdez. Then we will pass many villages and gardens so that you can gain a better idea of the way of life along the oasis.
After that, reach M’hamid, where you will start your trekking, have dinner, and breakfast, and sleep in the bivouac.
Day 2: M’hamid – Sidi Naji
Morocco camel trek from Marrakech for 10 days starts in the morning from M’hamid, the last village before the Sahara, after meeting your team. We start our trip to explore the most beautiful parts of the Sahara desert. After about 3 hours of walking, we enjoy a lunch break under a shadowy tree in the best place, then continue our tour for about 3 hours to Sidi Naji where we will set up our mobile camp. You will sleep in a tent under a Sky full of stars.
Day 3: Sidi Naji – Erg Zahar
You will wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise, after breakfast, we continue our trekking by moving on through the magic Sahara desert. After about 3 or 4 hours of walking, we cross a big part of the desert, then break into the middle of the desert, where we have lunch and nomad tea. After that, we will continue our adventure to reach the wonderful area of Erg Zahar, where we will set up our mobile camp under the sky full of stars.
Day 4: Erg Zahar (stay in Erg Zahar)
After breakfast, we walk and continue the Morocco camel trek from Marrakech for 10 days around the dunes of Erg Zahar and take a break in the shade of a tamarisk tree for lunch. Then back to your mobile camp in Erg Zahar, you will relax and enjoy the moment with the nomad team in the desert of Erg Zahar.
Day 5: Erg Zahar – Erg S’mar
After your breakfast, we carry on our trekking for about 3 or 4 hours with our companion animals (camels) toward a different world of calmness and tranquility. Lunch will be enjoyed in the shadow of a big tamarisk tree. After that, our journey continues for approx. Till, you will reach Erg S’mar where we will set up our mobile camp, and enjoy the sunset above the dunes.
Day 6: Erg S’mar – Erg Chegaga
We will wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise above the dunes, after breakfast we will continue our trekking by moving on through the magic Sahara desert. After about 3 or 4 hours of walking, we will cross a large part of the desert, then we have a break in the middle of the desert for lunch. Next, we go on our adventure to reach a wonderful area of Erg Chegaga dunes, where we will set up our camp under the full stars.
Day 7: Erg Chegaga – (stay in Erg Chegaga)
Wake up early enough and you will get the chance to watch the spectacle of the sunrise when the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. During your stay in Erg Chegaga desert camp, you will relax in your camp and enjoy time with Nomad people. you will have a perfect time with the sunset above the big dunes of Morocco.
Day 8: Erg Chegaga – Erg Bougarne
We Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise over the high dunes of Morocco, and after enjoying breakfast. Then we continue the Morocco camel trek and advance through the magic Sahara desert, after walking about 3 or 4 hours of hiking, we cross a large part of the desert, then break into the middle of the desert, where we have lunch and enjoy nomad tea under the tree. After the break, we will continue our adventure to reach the wonderful area of the dunes of Erg Bougarne, where we will stay and set up our mobile camp in the desert and under a sky full of stars.
Day 9: Erg Bougarne – M’hamid
After enjoying the sunrise above the dunes and breakfast, we continue our Morocco trek towards M’hamid. After taking us about 2 or 3 hours by trek, you will enjoy a break for lunch prepared by your guide team. Then we will continue to ride back through the amazing desert landscape to reach M’hamid in the evening, around 05:00 pm. You will stay another night at camp in M’hamid.
Day 10: M’hamid – Marrakech
Today is the last day of Morocco trekking, our desert tour of 10 days in the Sahara from Marrakech. After enjoying your breakfast, we leave to go back towards Marrakech through the beautiful Dra Valley. Lunch will have to be enjoyed at local restaurants along the way. After that, you will also cross through the High Atlas mountains, and then to Marrakech, where you will end your experience with a Morocco trek from Marrakech in days.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING FOR THE TREKKING?

What do I wear for the camel ride?
Be sure to wear full and loose clothes on your camel ride, especially in the Sublime desert. If you want to wear shorts, long shorts are recommended. Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes are also advised to make your camel ride more comfortable.
