Program of Atlas Mountains Trekking in Morocco

Day1: Marrakech – Imi – Oughlad – Imsker – Gliz (Km 54)

Our trekking tour in the Atlas starts from Marrakech and will take about 5-6 hours. We will pick you up and head towards Imi-oughlad, a beautiful village located in the mountains in the region of Marrakech and near the famous village of Imlil. We will see the Imenane Valley then we trek slowly to the Tizi n Lbour (over 2000m above sea). We will have a pause for lunch at Imeskar Village (a Berber village in the mountains). After that, we continue to cross the small valley surrounded by several huge walnut trees. The trekking to the next village of Tinghar is easy and no need for technical materials. You can stop wherever you wish to take pictures until we reach the village of Gliz where we will spend the night.

Day2: Gliz – Oukaimeden – Tizi n Addi – Tachdirth

One of the famous peaks in the Atlas Mountains is the Tizi-n-Oukaimden an altitude of 2600 to 3200 above the sea. So, our adventure for today will be a great one. We will hike the mountains enjoying the gorgeous view of the Ousrtik Valley. The mountains belong to the famous Toubkal series which has the highest peak in Morocco. Okaimden is known for snowboarding, after enjoying the experience, we will have a pause for lunch. Later, you will continue trekking to see the impressive Valley of the High Atlas near the Berber village of Tachddirt where we will have the overnight. 

Today’s trek takes 6 hours

Day 3: Tachdirth – Ikkis – Tizi N’aguersiwal – Aguersiwal – Matat

Day three of our trekking adventure in the Atlas Mountains (Tobkal). After breakfast, we set off on a trekking tour to the Assif Imnane Valley. On our way, we will cross over several Berber  Towns. Before we reach our destination, we will stop at the Tizi N’ageursiwal (2000m of altitude), which offers breathtaking views made of mountains series and a beautiful valley. When you explore the site and take some pictures, we will continue the trekking to the village of Aguersiwal where we will have a Berber lunch and get refreshed. The next destination and the last one for today’s trekking is the valley of Matat, where we will spend the night and have dinner. 

Today’s trek takes 5 hours (easy trekking)

Day 4: Matat – Tizi Oudite – Azib n Tamsoult

The region is full of beautiful valleys and impressive mountains which make it the best destination for trekking and climbing adventures. After breakfast in Matat, you will start a new 6-hour trek to reach the Azib n-Tamsoult Village. But the first stop is Azzadene Valley, another breathtaking valley. Then, you will have the opportunity to pass over Tizi Oudite Pass (at 2,250m of altitude). Also, you will discover the Ait Aissa Village and Tizi Oussm Village, then you arrive at  Azib n’Tansoult. The Azib n Tamsoult is located in the middle of Toubkal Park at an altitude of 2250m. It’s great to spend the night here enjoying the gorgeous views.

Day 5: Azib n Tamsoult – Tizi Agelzim – Toubkal Refuge

Today, you will wake up early to watch the panoramic sunrise between mountains then you prepare for today’s trekking adventure. When you get ready, we will head to explore the Ighouliden waterfalls situated next to the Azzadene Valley. Our peak destination for today is Toubkal Refuge at 3207m of altitude it was built by a professional climber and mountains lover from the village of Imlil. The refuge can receive more than 180 guests. After we take our lunch, we will get out of Toubkal Refuge to discover the sight and experience snowboarding. The sunset here is just breathtaking. You will spend the night in the Toubkal Refuge.

Day 6: Toubkal refuge – Toubkal Summit – Toubkal Refuge – Imlil – Marrakech

Today is the last day of our trekking experience in the Atlas Mountains but the most adventurous one. We will continue to hike the Toubkal peak (4,167m) from where you could live memorable moments. The peak offers a panoramic view made of clouds so you feel yourself touching the sky also you can see the Atlas Range and the Sahara Desert from there. Then, we get back to the Toubkal Refuge to take our luggage and from there we head via Imlil village to arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
