Itinerary: ​3 Days 2 Night Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech

Day 1: Fes – Ifran – Azrou – Midelt – Er-Rachidia – Erfoud – Merzouga

This package tour is designed for an extraordinary experience in Morocco. Today, we start our desert tour from Fes in the early morning, we head through the middle Atlas passing by Ifran “Moroccan Switzerland” and stopping in Azrou. You will take pictures in the cedar forest with the Barbary apes. Along our road, we will pass by several Berber towns and you will get the opportunity to experience the nomadic life. The road is rich in mountain series. You will have your lunch in the small village of Zaida or Midelt. Continuing our tour by driving south to the desert of Merzouga passing by the Tizi N’Talghomt Pass (pass in the mountain). Later on, you will cross Ziz Gorge before arriving in Errachidia, where you can see the Barrage Hassan Al-Dakhil (a large water store). The next village is Erfoud, where you can see the fossil products. Continue driving, you will start to see the desert from Erfoud until you reach Merzouga village. You will prepare for a camel trek to reach the desert camp in the heart of Erg Chebbi dunes where you will attend the panoramic sunset and spend the night, to enjoy the Gnawa music. The starry sky makes the desert night in Merzouga a magical one. 7 hours drive

Day 2: Desert Trekking in Merzouga

You must wake up earlier in the morning to catch the gorgeous sunrise. Take your breakfast. Then, you will start trekking the dunes of Erg Chebbi for about 3 hours. Later, you get back to the camp and start a journey to the village of Khamlia, where you can take your lunch and get to know the Berber Gnawa (a black Amazigh people originally from Mali). After that, you head to the Hassi el-Biad to enjoy the beautiful view there before you get back to the heart of the desert. You can experience different desert activities such as a sand-bath or sandboarding. You will enjoy a mint tea over a dune while you are watching the sunset in the late afternoon. Evening and the night in the desert camp.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges Ouarzazate – Aït BenHaddou – Tizi N’Tichka Pass – Marrakech

On the last day of your desert trip from Fes to Marrakech, you will have your breakfast while the sun is shining. Then, you drive to Marrakech via the impressive Todgha Gorges where you will stop to walk and enjoy the beautiful walls of rocks and the long river. Along the road of thousand Kasbah, you will see the beautiful village of Megouna, famous for the Rose Festival. Continue driving, you will stop to discover the UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou before you drive to the last city in this tour via Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa. Arrive in Marrakech where our Morocco Desert Tour ends.
