Numerous Hollywood blockbusters were filmed here, and the sets are generally still in place (Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Asterix and Obelix, Game of Thrones).

Day 2: Ouarzazate-Todgha Gorge-Erfoud-Merzouga 5 Hours

After breakfast, we continue on to the oasis of Skoura, where several historic Kasbahs, some sadly in ruins, remain among the palms.
From here, our journey takes us via Kelaat Mgouna, the Valley of Flowers, where cosmetic items are created locally from the valley’s plentiful roses. These items are well-known and highly appreciated across Morocco. We’ll have lunch in the lovely Todgha gorges. Then we’ll continue riding to Merzouga via Erfoud. Then in Merzouga, you’ll take a two-hour camel ride over the dunes to the camp.
Dinner and a night’s sleep are in a traditional nomadic tent, but after dinner, we congregate around the fire from underneath the sky full of stars and sing music.

Day 3: Merzouga-Rissani-Tazarine-Draa Valley-Agdez

Wake up early enough and you will get the chance to watch the spectacle of the sunrise when the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight.
The itinerary of the Morocco Sahara desert tour continues to the Draa valley, via the village of Tazarine (featured in the film Babel), and lunch someplace along the way.
In the afternoon, the journey takes us to Tansikht to drive along the ancient caravan route and discover the real Draa valley with its huge palm trees and ancient villages. At Agdez, dinner and a night’s sleep are in a hotel/Riad.

Day 4: Agdez-Tiliouine-Arazane-Taroudante-Agadir

After breakfast, we complete our journey northwest from Agdez. Along the way, we pass beautiful landscapes and the Bouazar mines. This is a secluded part of the country and more off the beaten track.
Then we head toward Taznakht, famous for its barbarian rugs and carpets. Later, we continue west to Agadir, and we cross the Tizi-n-Ikhsane and Tizi-n-Tighatine passes.
In the heart of the saffron-growing area of Morocco, and where there is an excellent little museum about the art of growing saffron, in the afternoon, the road takes us to Taroudant again and follows the often dry Souss river and Argan trees on all the slopes of the hillsides back to Agadir, where we finish our experience of the Morocco Sahara desert tour from Agadir.
